Top 13 Products of 2013

Happy 2014! Hope you all had a safe and happy New Year and that 2014 is filled with everything you are hoping for. I thought the best way to kickstart this year would be by counting down my top 13 products of 2013  - hopefully this gives you some ideas for products to sample over the coming months!
13. Essie Mint Candy Apple - the most beautiful & wearable shade. I wore this throughout 2013 and I'm still absolutely in love with it.

12. Benefit Girl Meets Pearl - Gorgeous champagne-coloured highlight, looks great on all skin tones and with all makeup looks. Incredibly versatile and so so beautiful!

11. Nude By Nature Powder Brush - I use this daily with Rimmel Stay Matte powder in order to set my foundation & concealer - it's handsdown the best powder brush I've ever used. Super dense and super soft, this brush is a miracle worker.
10. Swisspers Green Tea Facial Cleansing Wipes - Not only do these wipes smell amazing but they remove face makeup really well. I hae using wipes to remove eye makeup, but whenever I've run out of my usual eye makeup remover (keep reading!) these get the job done. The plastic flap ensures these wipes don't dry out which is a major plus.

9. Mac Rebel Lipstick - This lipstick is a cult favourite, the dark plum/berry shade completes any look and the colour is incredibly buildable. Worn with gold eyeshadow, this lipstick is absolutely irresistible and looks amazing on any skintone.

8. Urban Decay Primer Potion - everyone loves this which means it must be good, obviously! Keeps eyeshadow in place - no creasing! - all day and night. Such a silky and amazing product and by far the best primer I've used to date.

7. Maybelline Falsies Mascara - I am so mad at myself because I got this years ago, hated it  the first few times I used it and discarded it. Earlier this year, convinced by the beautiful Tanya Burr, I tried it again - and I realised what I'd been missing out on!! This mascara lengthens, volumises and separates lashes without making them appear clumpy. Plus it's Tanya Burr's favourite - need I say more?!
6. - Lorac Pro To Go Palette - to be totally and completely honest this falls so high in the countdown for one reason and one reason only - Chai. It has fast become my absolute favourite eyeshadow shade ever. It is beautifully pigmented and the most wonderful shade of warm gold imaginable. In terms of pigmentation and product quality - this whole palette is stunning.

5. Macadamia Natural Oil Reviving Curl Cream - this product is responsible for salvaging countless potentially mortifying hair days. If you have uncontrollably curly hair - like me! - put this through the ends of your hair whilst it's damp, allow it to air dry and proceed to thank the God's that are Macadamia Oil.

4. Taylor By Taylor Swift - I am obsessed with this fragrance. I wear it daily, nightly, anytime I leave my room I spritz it on. I have this in a Travello in my car just to ensure I also smell like Taylor. I love it. It's beautiful. I cannot describe scents for the life of me but just go smell it and fall in love and buy it. It's wonderful.
3. Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover - I literally went through about six bottles of this stuff in 2013. I swear by it. Nothing removes eye makeup - be it waterproof mascara or otherwise - with as little effort. This is my holy grail makeup remover. I'm obsessed.
2. Urban Decay Naked Basics - I use this every single day. It's perfect. Consisting of mainly matte shades, it is perfect for everyday school/work/life wear, whilst also providing a handy eyebrow shade (I use naked 2 but obviously this may not work for everyone!). I love this palette, it's perfect, I recommend it so so highly.

1. Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - THIS ITEM IS UNBEATABLE. It is beyond perfect. If I wear no other makeup I am wearing this. It does exactly what it claims - it wakes you up. It's eye brightening and it conceals under-eye circles and to be honest it's a miracle worker and after completing my final year of high school in 2013 with many late "study" nights under my belt, I can truly testify to the amazingness that is this product.

So that's it! My top 13 products of 2013. I hope this was helpful to ou in some way and once again I hope that 2014 is the best year yet for you!
Big love,
Ally xx

Perrie Edwards Inspired Outfit & Makeup

This post is inspired by the style of the stunning Perrie Edwards. I don't have an exact image of what I'm copying, but the outfit takes aspects that she typically incorporates into her everyday style.
Perrie has a really unique and distinguished style and it's often somewhat love it or loathe it, but I definitely think she looks amazing more often than not.
This dress from Factorie has a really Perrie-inspired feel to it, especially when worn with the boots. The cut out waist line with the lace insert is very Perrie, as she often wears cropped shirts and this has a similar feel to it. The colours are also something Perrie would wear, especially the floral print - everybody knows how Perrie loves her hippie flowers and floral headbands!
If it's cold, throw on a denim jacket with rolled up sleeves to keep the Perrie feel to the outfit!

These imitation Jeffrey Campbell boots are so very "Perrie" it's ridiculous. With the dress, they work to add a new dimension to an otherwise casual dress - this is something not only Pez but all the Little Mix girls do, using shoes and accessories to  give an outfit that little bit extra.
Excuse my derp face I don't know where it came from
Bold lips are something Perrie wears often, particularly when she is light on the eye makeup. I'm wearing the Maybelline Colossal mascara and Covergirl Spellbound lipstick with Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer under my eyes.
My hair is in a straight high pony, something Perrie wears quite often!

Eleanor Calder Inspired Outfit + Makeup

Hey guys! So this is an OOTD inspired by the above photos of the beautiful Eleanor Calder! Her style is flawless and I literally credit my interest in fashion to her. When I saw this outfit I knew I had to recreate it. Though the jeans aren't to everyone's taste, I absolutely love them and they're a really easy way to switch up your look. I hope you guys enjoy :)

Jeans - Bardot
T Shirt - Glassons
Shoes - Converse
Bag - Sportsgirl

Phone Case - Cath Kidston (Eleanor does have a floral phone case by this brand but it isn't this specific case!)
Makeup - Eleanor typically wears very little makeup, so Ive used a BB cream  for some coverage with Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer under my eyes, Rimmel Stay matte to set (an known product of Eleanor's!). For blush I used Nars Orgasm.  I've used the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette for eyeshadow, using WOS on my lid, Naked 2 in the crease and Faint in the outer V. Eleanor rarely does much in terms of lip colour so I've simply applied Nivea Lip Butter.
My hair is just in its natural curls as I was too lazy to straighten it, however I do have the same ombred hair as El.

(Excuse the bandage I have tendon damage in my wrist!)
Rings - Pandora
Nails - Acrylic nails with Essie's Mint Candy Apple
